KCA works in and with communities to reduce the harms and costs to communities and individuals of substance misuse and mild to moderate mental health issues by providing a range of accessible, flexible and innovative services, developing community services and responding to needs not currently being met.

Disseminating Good Practice

Conference Consortium LogoEach year, KCA hosts a range of conferences looking at aspects of working with substance misuse and mental health.  We are also partners in the Conference Consortium, a unique collaboration, operating as a social enterprise, which is dedicated to organising conferences and other events promoting the adoption of the most appropriate, relevant and effective policies and practice, in response to the problems presented by drug and alcohol use.

In keeping with our profile as a learning organisation, focusing on evidence based practice, we will be publishing speakers' presentations and other information on our Conference page as these happen.

Anthrax and Heroin

The Health Protection Agency has confirmed that a drug injecting heroin user has tested positive for anthrax and is being treated in a London hospital.  For more information, see the Health Protection Agency's announcement or download an information leaflet fron our Advice and Information page
