How we will work with you

Your first appointment

This will last up to an hour and you need to be sober and not under the influence of any substances when you visit.    The appointment will happen in a safe, confidential place and you will meet the person who will be your worker.

Your worker will talk to you about confidentiality:  how much of the information you give us we can keep between us and the kind of information we have to share with other people.  If we have to pass on information, we will always try to discuss this with you first.

Your worker is a specialist in working with young people and will not judge you or make you feel bad or small.

If you're worried about what will happen at your first appointment, you can bring someone with you for the first part of the meeting.

Assessment

We will ask you questions about you, your use, how it impacts on your life, what you want from us and what you can expect from us.  You will be able to ask us questions too.

At the end of the assessment, you will agree with your worker how often you will meet.  Usually, this is weekly for an hour - but this can be more or less -depending on your circumstances.   You can continue coming to us for as long you and your worker this is helpful for you.

Working with other professionals

Sometimes we will need to work with other professionals to support you.  Or, you might like us to get in contact with a professional for you, or give you advice about how to get help.
