Quality in Substance Misuse

QuADS and Quality Standards

KCA is compliant with national Quality Assurance in Drug Services (QuADS).  The organisation produces annual QuADS Action Plans for internal and external audit. The policy relating to Quality Assurance issues are covered in a range of KCA policies attached to the Questionnaire.

We have a rolling five year organisational strategy from which Service Quality targets are derived and specified in the annual Business Plan.

Cinical Governance Framework

KCA has established a rolling programme of clinical audit, agreed with its commissioners, which properly builds on the audit cycle and makes best use of available resources to enhance the quality of clinical care.

Any necessary action is taken to enhance and continuously improve clinical care arising from the outcomes of the clinical audit process.  KCA's Director of Research develops appropriate audit tools and manages the audit process, reporting the results to the Quality and Performance Management Committee of the Board of Trustees.
