Service User Development Support

Role Summary

To work with the Functional Specialist Lead (FSL) in the promotion and development of Service User Involvement (SUI) within KCA.

To assist the FSL in the development of SUI in Kent.

To attend monthly planning meetings with the FSL.

To provide support to Service User Representative Consultants (SURCS) in their roles in acting as a representative for service users' views during appropriate meetings either within the service centre or agency wide.

To participate in the recruitment of paid members of staff as agreed with the FSL.

To participate in the recruitment of SURC's.

To coordinate monthly SURC team meetings.

To review and evaluate the Functional Specialist Handbook (FSH) with the FSL.

To identify and where appropriate attend external events/conferences.

To actively network across other service user involvement forums.

Previous or current service user

Interpersonal skills

Ability to work on own initiative, independently and as part of a team

Ability to motivate and support others

Ability to work constructively with a wide variety of individuals in a range of settings

Knowledge

Willingness to develop appropriate knowledge regarding the organsiation, alcohol and drugs, local and national resources
