Service User Involvement

  • gives service users an opportunity to comment on the planning, monitoring and delivery of KCA services
  • provides a forum in which to voice concerns and opinions about KCA services
  • involves service users in KCA activities - such as recruitment and service development

The main Service User Group, which is chaired and facilitated by service users, meets every four weeks and is attended by representatives from each service centre, members of KCA's Board of Trustees, a member of the Management Group and invited guests.  The attendance of Trustees and Managers means that issues of concern are reported back to KCA at Board and Service Centre level.

Twice a year, Service User Representatives attend the Board of Trustees meeting to discuss current issues and to reflect on events in the previous six months.

As part of KCA's Volunteer team, Service User Representatives have access to KCA's in house training curriculum and to roles advertised within KCA.

We have developed two roles for Service Users within KCA - Service User Representative Consultants and Service User Development Support
