Volunteer Roles with KCA

Volunteers contribute to our work in many ways - from painting our group rooms to guiding the strategic direction of the organisation and everything in between.   We've grouped the work our volunteers do into five main areas - Auxiliary Support, Level One, Level Two, Level Three and Trustee - and volunteers can join at any level.

We are always keen to recruit people who want to apply their practical skills and work experiences to help maintain and support KCA's buildings and offices.  Auxiliary Support Workers don't have direct involvement with service users, instead they will work on a range of tasks and projects directed by local managers.

Volunteers who work with service users (Levels One, Two and Three) will need to have a Criminal Records Bureau check - our recruitment team will help you with that - because they will be working closely with vulnerable people.  A CRB check that comes back positive is not the end of the world - and isn't a bar to being a KCA volunteer.

If you want to volunteer as a counsellor, you will need to have a relevant diploma or be in the final year of your relevant diploma course.  You will also need to undertake specialist in-house training - we run courses two or three times a year - and will must adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics.
