Young Person's Services
KCA Young Persons’ Service has had a dedicated service to work with young people with substance misuse problems since 1998
KCA’s work with young people has the overall aim of reducing the harm caused to young people, their families and the wider community by substance misuse. In our work with young people we aim to:

Reduce levels of drug use and facilitate improvements in physical health, psychological health, social functioning and family and key relationships and education and employment status
- Assist service users to develop and maintain family and support networks whilst in contact with services

Provide services that are comprehensive, competent and young person centred working within the legal framework pertaining to children and young people

Our work is integrated with the work of other Children’s Services

Ensure that the views of young people are central to the services we provide

Provide services in places which are accessible to young people and non-stigmatising

Operate according to principles of good practice, National Quality Standards (QuADS) and Occupational Standards (DANOS)
KCA currently provide a range of services to young people aged from 7 – 18 which includes expertise in the following:
- The Sunlight Project for 7 to 13 year olds
- Targetted prevention for 10 to 18 year olds
- Work with Young Offenders aged 10 to 18
- Treatment services for 10 to 17 year old
- Training in the use of the Drug Use Screening Tool for professionals working with vulnerable young people
